March 2013 OAMC

After going through the month of February, I think we like this OAMC thing!!  We only spent $165* on the February OAMC Shopping List  and there were only a couple things we bought differently.  It lists 30 chicken breasts (plus the by the pound breasts) and we only bought 15.  Next time we will go ahead and buy the whole amount.  My husband went shopping with me and well, we just could NOT buy all that chicken!  Lol…  Also on the Chipolte Lime Chicken, I looked everywhere and could NOT find the chipolte chiles in adobo sauce.  So I guess technically we will only have Lime Chicken lol.  No I am still on the lookout for it and my meals are still waiting in the freezer for me to cook them 🙂

As March rolls in I wanted to add in a few new recipes.  We have 7 meals still in the freezer from last month (they were all part of the double batch recipes).  I had found a few recipes in Feb that I had wanted to try but I forgot to write down the recipe and I haven’t been able to find those again…. so my hunt is going on now for meals to fill in 22 supper slots on the menu for this month.

I know most OAMC Menus do leave open several nights that they either have leftovers or eat out.  Well our leftovers are used for work lunches the next day and we are trying really hard to not eat out.  We are moving in May and really need to save as much as possible for the move.  Since we are military it’ll all be reimbursed to us… but it does come out of our pockets to begin with.   You know… hotel, gas, meals, then the hotel that we’ll be in for a week or two once we get to our destination while we wait on finding housing.

February 2013 OAMC

So the journey for edible recipes continued… I have 15 recipes in my collection so far that sounds like something my family will eat. We’ll see once we try them. There are also another like 8 or so suppers I have marked on my calendar to make but I forgot to write down the recipe so I need to research and find them again.

All of the recipes I use are available on other peoples websites where they have posted them and I will be giving everyone credit where credit is due. I also will not be posting and of the recipes I actually paid for (not that I use them but I might one day). Now if I change someone elses recipe to suit my purposes, then it is mine and I will post it under my name. Depending on how much I change it will depend if I even mark it “adapted from”.

I did go back and Ihave attached a shopping list.  It cost me $165 for the food to prepare these meals.
