Household Goods are GONE!!

This Monday and Tuesday our packers arrived.  Yay!!!

On Monday the packers arrived at about 8am and worked until 2:30pm.  They did take a 1 hour lunch and a couple breaks.  There were three of them and they completed the downstairs.  Downstairs consisted of:  living room; dining room; kitchen; breakfast nook/ office; 1/2 bath; laundry area; garage; and all of my Tupperware and Thirty-One business supplies.

Tuesday the packers arrived at about 8am and worked until 1:58pm.  They once again took a 1 hour lunch and a couple breaks.  There were only two of them this time around.  Upstairs consisted of: 4 bedrooms; 2 full bathrooms; and a large walk-in hall closet (yes my clothes closet!).  They also did the outside storage closet and packed my deer head.

Yay!!  Packing DONE!

Then rolls around the actual “movers”.  They came on Wednesday.  There were 4 movers and they got there around 8am also.  I got a text from my husband about 2:15pm saying they were done loading the truck and we were out of there!!

truck to Fort Bragg

The yard…

Wow! Can I say I have my work cut out for me??? Lol! The back yard on this place is crazy from what I have seen. (Only in pictures so far…)

So the backyard looks like this from the far side view:

It doesn’t look too bad. Well if you do not mind the slope 😦 I do! I want to put in, maybe two, levels in the yard as it tapers down. That way I’ll have a flat yard, just divided into two areas 🙂 Sort of like this…

tiered yard 4

This is the picture I have of the backyard looking out from the back porch. So from here once put in the tiers, I should look out to two levels of green lush grass… Ahhhh!

This is also at the back of my yard somewhere…

back yard that drops into woods

Hopefully as I am making my tiers, I can dump any leftover dirt into this spot. Looks like it was once a tree stump?? Maybe not. Maybe its just a hole that’s full of crappy looking stuff 😛

Our House

So the other day we were offered a home at Fort Bragg.  I was so worried we would not have a house to move to and would have to live out in the economy 😦  But we got one!!  Yay!!

So here are some pictures of it…

The house

I hope soon after we move in, to plant Thornless Climbing Roses (in pink) in front of each of the 3 columns on the front porch as well as at the corner of the house on the outside of the garage. Perhaps a Pink Weeping Tree Rose there at the end of the driveway… one on each side 🙂

back of house

The goal for the back of the house (to begin with) is to clear out all that from under the bay window and put in planters and/ or raised type planter. I think I want a sort of 2-tiered one. Not sure if I’ll want to use that one for flowers, vegetables or herbs. I really want to grow my own vegetables and herbs, but we’ll see….

Since we’ll be there the next 2-5 years, I don’t mind doing a little landscaping to make my time there a little more appealing 🙂 So as you see the back yard slightly slopes down. I would like to use that landscaping cinder blocks to sort of step down the yard. Then we’ll have a nice flat back yard, it’ll just be more like 2 or 3 little yards. Can you picture that?? I don’t really know how to say it but I can so picture it.

On the Road Again… to Fort Bragg, NC

We found out back in December that we were going to be PCSing to Fort Bragg but only unofficial…  Yesterday my husband finally got OFFICIAL ORDERS sending us to Fort Bragg in the coming few months 🙂

Its GREAT to finally have something official sending us there.  Now there are so many things we need to do….

First and foremost, we need to get on the waiting list for on post housing.  The housing community I want to live in has a current wait time of 24 MONTHS!!  Wow!!  Yeah we’ll be there before THAT!!  My #2 choice has an 18 month waitlist.  My #3 choice has an 8 month wait…. Which leaves our last and least wanted place to live with a 0, yes, a 0 month wait 😦  The only thing good about our LAST choice is Cathryne will be able to go to a high school other than EE Smith High School in Fayetteville, NC, which is (reportedly) a HORRIBLE school!!

Then we need to decide when we are going…

When will we ship our HHGs…

When my last day at work will be…

Throw out lots of crap we do not need to save…
